Mozy Monday

On Monday, as each work group prepares for their first workday, folks take just a little longer to retrieve things from the Supply Room, Gather for a few quick lesson on Safety, Sensitivity, and Stewardship, Get the Lunches made, Find their tools.  And, once the full team arrives at the worksite on Mozy Monday, the group does its best to take some time meeting and getting to know the family whose home they will work on during the week.

Yes, all these activities took place as expected, and remarkably almost all crews came back saying what an ‘amazing’ day it had been, and largely nobody remembered a Monday where more had been accomplished – in relationship building or home-building.  It sounded like a great day all around.

Each day we hope to report on a particular Work Site or Crew activity...

Today:

Team Color: Black
Team House: Jenga II
Team Chore Name: False:Blackbear

False:Blackbear is our group name. Our group consists of majestic Mark Neider, amazing Alex Kang, awesome Andy Hirakawa, super Sophie George, (insert positive adjective that starts with the letter “m”) Meg Mutschler, and our group leaders; spectacular Steve Wasserman, and kreative (sp) Ken Fowler.  We are a very loving and tight knit group who care for one another like a mother bear would care for her young cubs.

Our job entails many challenging as well as rewarding experiences. We are currently digging underneath the shaky support of a house and this laptop with 28% battery remaining is our only source of light as well as hope to possibly gain our freedom. Not really though, we are just trying to be funny. Basically we are building a new foundation for a house, growing together in fellowship and faith.
