MUSIC AND ARTS

DUMC offers a varied music program to enhance worship.  Our Praise Band provides contemporary Christian music for the early service at 8:45 AM each Sunday, while organist Esther Peck and the Chancel Choir under the direction of Marsha Goldsmith, provide more traditional music for the 11:00 AM service.  Children’s Choirs participate in services each month, rehearsing 9:00-9:30 Sunday mornings. The confirmation class provides music on special occasions, while the middle high and senior high youth groups present puppet shows and dramatic plays for Youth Sunday.  An adult hand bell group rehearses weekly and plays for services and special events. Dave Rice works with instrumental musicians to accompany hymns and cantatas for seasonal celebrations.  Musicians will find many opportunities to share their talents in worship experiences.

YOUTH SUNDAY is held the 5th Sunday of every month

CHANCEL CHOIR CANTATA - MAUNDY THURSDAY - March 20, around 7:15 PM. The program for the evening, following supper at 6:30 PM, is a musical drama of The Last Supper. The cantata will be performed by the Chancel Choir and a chamber orchestra. It is a beautiful, moving program.  During the cantata we will hold our communion service. We hope you will join us and encourage others to attend with you.
