FAIRWAYS OF FAITH - The tournament was held Tuesday, May 6 on a gorgeous day for golfing - check HERE for results (Coming Soon!)

MOTHER/DAUGHTER BANQUET - Saturday May 10, 6:15 p.m. If you’ve never been before you won’t want to miss one of the big events of the year. The guys go all out for dinner and a show. You thought Godspell was fabulous??? There are no words to describe the show the guys put on! Literally , no words! You can’t beat the price though ...Dinner and a show for only $5 for two ladies. Young and older, mother or daughter (we’re all daughters) come and enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship. Please call or email the church office ASAP. (Do not tell Pam M on Sunday morning, she will forget or lose the piece of paper you wrote it on)

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL - Saturday, May 24th , 11 – 2:00 P.M. RAIN OR SHINE. Available for purchase will be Strawberry pies, strawberry cheesecake pies, Baked goods, strawberry smoothies, strawberry shortcake, strawberries & ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, and drinks. There will be games for younger children with assorted prizes. Proceeds will benefit the Appalachia Service Project, a housing repair mission trip, our youth participate in each year.

ADULT TEACHERS AND AIDES NEEDED - Unbury your treasured gifts and devote time teaching children about our Savior. Full-time and part-time opportunities available for both upcoming Summer and School terms; no experience needed expect for a “Life–Changing” experience and willingness to play hard, love children tenderly and required training offered . GODSPELL BRINGS DOWN THE HOUSE - "What a glorious week-end it was for the cast, theater crew, kitchen crew, and audiences of "Godspell." Kyle Durbin, with his infinite talent, put together a show that will be remembered and talked about for years to come. It truly was an incredible experience. Seeing DUMC kids with friends from school tell the stories of Jesus gave us all a sense of Christian community. Thanks to the many, many people who supported this special ministry. God is, indeed, at work here among us!!"  Marsha

PASSION PLAY SLIDE SHOW PRESENTATION - Highlighting the 2010 Tour to Switzerland, Austria and German (see flyer on table in Coffee Hour room) will be May 13 at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic church (across street).  If you are thinking of going on the trip this is a great way to see what is being offered.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - We will leave the church at 7:30 a.m. to go to 204 Clay St. in Annapolis (it is at the corner of Clay and Rideout, overlooking College Creek).  Parking is extremely limited.  Hilda Austin is coordinating lunch 15-20 sandwiches, fruit, a case of drinks, and chips (?) contact Hilda if you can help. FYI - it looks like Wednesday will be opening up for five additional persons, let me know if you might work on Wed.?  We have about two months work left on this home.  In 2009 our Coalition will have five of fifteen Habitat home to build in Annapolis. TONGUES OF FIRE IN THE NEWS! - The BBQ Team made MORE local news recently - our first story can be found HERE and one published 05.07.08 can be found HERE. The team will be serving Barbequed chickens and pulled pork at the church’s annual STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL, Saturday, May 24th, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. , at the church located at 819 W. Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD . Along with the scrumptious meats, the team will serve delicious baked beans and cole slaw. If you stopped by the church last month for the TOF sandwiches (where we sold out an hour or more before closing) you know to come early. With your continued support our Volunteers in Mission Ministry Team can continue to help rebuild homes damaged by natural disasters.  Check the calendar for the latest updated TOF events!

AN INVITATION - Oberammergau Passion Play with Tour through Austria, Switzerland & Germany: Christi Rogers, member of Holy Family, is organizing this exciting 11 day escorted tour with tickets to the Oberammergau Passion Play in June 2010. WEST RIVER DAY CAMP - located at 5100 Chalk Point Rd, West River, MD registration is now being accepted for various day camps 9 a.m—12 a.m., $50 per session. See bulletin board for more information

REQUEST FROM THE YOUTH DEPARTMENT - The youth are accepting donations for our new youth room! We are in need of gently used couches , chairs, large screen tv, game system, small refrigerator, and pool , ping pong table, or pinball machine. If you have anything that remotely fits this description please see Steve  L.or Steve W. and let us know or call us too!  Thanks so much!

VACATION BIBLE CAMP - July 13—17, 5:30—8 p.m.

DID YOU KNOW??? - DUMC’s website event calendar is a very handy way to see all the goings on that are going on here at DUMC. Calendar events are categorized so when viewing the calendar you can filter out certain events that may pertain to you. Computer savvy users can even download this data right into their cellphone/PDA/or calendar software like Microsoft Outlook. When viewing the calendar there is a committee selection box on the top right hand side. Here you can select various committees like Friends of DUMC, Care & Nurture, Methodist Women, etc. If you want help using this high-tech feature feel free to contact the webmaster.

PERFORMANCE DAY CAMP - June 23-27, 2008 is a day camp experience that culminates in a performance Friday afternoon. Family and friends are invited to come and marvel! Drama track - for children who have finished Kindergarten through those who have finished 8th grade. Your child will experience singing, dancing, and drama, along with regular camp activities. Instrumental track - for musicians who have finished grades 4-8. Your child will have theory instruction and ensemble rehearsals, along with regular camp activities Pick up a form at the back of church.

BUS MINISTRY - The Lord has prompted the heart of Joe Niemann and we will embark on a bus ministry . On the first Sunday of each month beginning December 2, 2007 Joe will pick up those folks who are in need of transportation to the 11:00 service. The route and times will be developed as needed. If you are interested in this service please call Joe, 410-956-6506 or the church office, 410-798-5511. Thank you Joe! It is our hope this will allow some of our seniors who don’t drive the chance to worship at church again so if you know of someone who could benefit from this ministry please call them.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO MINISTER - We would like to start a new ministry and hope you will want to be a part of it. As new members and attendees join our church we would like to have an established member ‘sponsor’ a family. By this we mean to simply extend personal Christian hospitality to a designated family by informing and inviting them to activities at church and to be available to answer questions or offer direction on who to speak with about specific concerns while they find their way around our church. If you would be interested please contact the church Office.

CANNED GOODS DONATIONS - Your donation of canned goods are always welcome and while we use some at DUMC the majority of it goes to the Local Food Bank, where families can come in each week to receive food
