A THANK YOU - We thank
all of those who have supported us and
who have participated in our programs
during the past. We look forward
to offering continued and new
opportunities for Christian fellowship
and service during this year. Our fund
raising programs, which have included
Pampered Chef and Tastefully Simple
parties and the sale of note cards, have
enabled us to contribute to several UMW
mission programs. Packages of ten note
cards with a sketch of Davidsonville
United Methodist Church are available
for sale in the parlor for only $5 per
package. We are also continuing the sale
of Rada knives. To order, please
contact Sharon Bence during services at
the church, or by calling her at (301)
249-2929.
MISSIONS AND STUDY - The Davidsonville
United Methodist Women (DUMW) is a
five-star unit that supports both local
and global missions. During 2001,
with prayers and God’s help, we met our
goal and sent our contribution of $1,200
to the Annapolis District Pledge to
Missions. In addition, we
collected $87 for the World Thank
Offering.
OUR LOCAL MISSION - We support the Anne
Arundel YWCA shelter for women and their
children by conducting Spring and Autumn
collections of career clothing and
school supplies.
OUR GLOBAL MISSION - Each year we select
a global mission.
OUR STUDY During 2001, we completed our
study entitled “The Christ-Center
Woman.” This study was led by our
President, Barbara Moore. During
2002, we look forward to Barbara guiding
us once again in a new study. We
may use one of the books recommended by
UMW’s School of Missions entitled “Jesus
and the Courageous Women.”
