Alternative Christmas Market
Saturday, Nov. 10 9-2 & Sunday, Nov. 11 10-2
An Alternative Christmas Market is coming to Davidsonville United Methodist Church again this year. It will be on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9-2 and Sunday, Nov. 11 from 10-2. Shoppers may buy unique gifts AND help women in less developed countries. The United Methodist Women are sponsoring the sale which has items from Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade organization. The organization buys the items at a fair price, then markets them in the United States. There will be an amazing range of items including toys, scarves, placemats, jewelry, various baskets, scented soaps, stationery sets, and different olive wood items. Christmas ornaments will be available. There will be many items different from last year.
Buying goods from a Ten Thousand Villages pop up shop directly helps people with little access to other ways to earn income. Ten Thousand Villages will also donate a percentage of the proceeds to the UMW for hosting the event - these funds will be donated to a local shelter for battered women.
